Matthew 2:12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
There are always multiple entry points and routes to travel to reach many countries: by land, by air and for some, also by sea. The choice of travel often depends on availability, purpose and comfort, even economics. However, there are cases when one means may have clear advantages over the other.
In the visit of the Magi which is read today, there was a recommendation to travel via an alternative route that bypassed Herod because he did not have good intentions towards the infant Jesus.
So here is the message: to protect what is precious, to teach us valuable life lessons and to lead us to the expected end, God may sometimes lead us on a detour. This alternative direction is not his intention to lead us away from his perfect plan for our lives, but to ensure that when we do arrive, we have all we require to stay within His perfect will.
This comes with a guarantee because
as long as God is the architect, there is no way any route leads to a dead end.
A longer road, perhaps, but arrival at the perfect destination; Certainly!
