Reference text: 1 Thessalonians 2:9-13
1 Thessalonians 2:13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
You can always see what you want to see, understand what you want to and hear what you want to from any message because of your disposition to it.
This could have impacts both for good and for bad because we can very easily find ourselves missing out on or gaining much more from a message because we relate to it from a particular perspective.
In writing to the Thessalonians, Paul was delighted about one thing: ‘that they had taken the word of God as it actually was, and not as human teaching. Now this is very important information because when we miss that piece of the puzzle, we are unable to form a complete picture.
Beloved, the word of God is His word- it isn’t human teaching nor a product of man’s imagination but it is born out of the father’s heart. Thus, it is only when we accept it as it is that it gets to work in us.
Most messages remain powerless until their contents are received exactly as they are meant to be, the Word of God is no different.
