ALL ROUNDED BLESSINGS

Reference: Genesis 13:2,5-18

Genesis 13:14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

Whenever you want to speak to someone about ‘a private matter’, that intentions speaks for itself: it has to be done in private, but that doesn’t always happen. Many of us at some points in time have either found ourselves on the receiving end of public revelation of delicate matters or thrown a couple out there ourselves. But before you read any further, let us come to a common ground that ‘private matters often need to remain private’.

The story we read today draws our mind to the very core of this matter. Given that even without the promise of the entire land visible to his eyes, there were contentions between Abraham and Lot, it wouldn’t be impossible to expect heavy clashes if both parties were privy to the fact that God was going to give it all to Abraham. That would have triggered even bigger conflict, so God waited till Abraham was alone.

Beloved, it isn’t that God does not have the ability to bless us ‘IN THE MIDST OF’ because it is clear that even while dwelling together with Lot, He was a described as ‘very rich’. God rather wants us to also appreciate that He is able and willing to bless us ‘APART FROM’. There may be a blessing that comes in cooperation, but that does not prevent God from giving a blessing individually.

Remember # Just as God is able to bless ‘in the midst of’ challenges, people and disappointment, ‘He is also able and willing to bless apart from them.’
