Reference text: John 18:33-37
John 18:37a So Pilate said to Him, “Then You are a King?” Jesus answered, “You say [correctly] that I am a King. This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth (AMP)
Do you know why you were born? Do you have the slightest idea of why you are a part of creation at this point in time? These are heavy duty questions that are not to be taken lightly on any account. They are questions that provoke an in-depth retrospection into our past, an analysis of the present and a peep into the future to see what the whole story of our lives has been, is and will be about.
Jesus was rather definite and certain about the reason He was on earth: ‘For this I was born and for this, I have come into the world’. Those are statements that can be made only in the absence of any iota of doubt-with a single mindedness that is not easily swayed.
Sweetheart, no man is able to know why they are present in the world, unless it is revealed to them. Maybe not in a loud voice, visions or in dreams as we often expect; but from that still small part in our hearts that ‘feels at peace’ when it senses that ‘this is the way to go’. We are not here because we chose to be: in fact, truly speaking, each of us was born without our consent. Nonetheless, we are here now.
We can go on complaining about not having the best of parents or the best upbringings, but that does not mean we have no where to go. Like Jesus, we were born for something, we were brought into this world to do something in it. So it is up to us to allow God lead us into finding that out because:
Remember # When there is clarity of purpose, knowledge of destination or reason for existence, one’s life takes on an entirely different direction – a route devoid of trial and error, independent of circumstances and luck, or indecision.
