Reference text: Job 3
Job 3:11 Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?
There are some words which when heard, get you heartbroken. When one gets the opportunity to have a heart to heart conversation with some people, their words feel sharp such that if one listens hard enough, they can gain a clear sense of the emotion, pain and hurt behind those words.
In today’s text, Job speaks up after the tragedy he faced and asked a number of l questions, one of which fell into the category of the description above. He questions his very existence and thus, begins to ponder if his presence here on earth and the very fact that he was alive was a mistake.
Like Job, many also feel this burden because of the pain and circumstances they go through, or the abuse they suffer at the hands of the very people who claim to love them: their friends and family. They begin to question even if their conception was an expected gift from God, or as a consequence of a mistake and begin to ask: why did I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost the very moment I came out of the belly?
Beloved, if you just feel ‘unwanted, unloved and in a place where your opinion is that’ I do not belong’, God has these words for you: ‘I have a great plan for you, and for that, I needed you here and still need you here. You belong with me’.
Remember # if only you knew with whom you belong, your mindset would be different.
