HOW DOES THAT CONCERN YOU?

John 20:21-22 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.

We read about what seems to be a Question and answer session between Peter and Jesus. However, on this account, Jesus does not provide Peter with a clear enough response, instead he responds with another question “what is that to you?” In other words, how is that any of your concern? That was because the things Peter was questioning about did not have any implications on his discipleship, his was to follow Jesus.

Often, we become curious about many things, yet have no real reason to be. We pursue different kinds of information, knowledge and adventures purely out of a sense of plain curiosity, and not inspiration or leading. We seek them because they tickle our ears, and get us excited, yet in the grand scheme of things, there is no clear foundation or rational for our pursuits.

It’s worth pondering on this then: of the many things we seek or desire, how many of them were born out of inspiration, and how many were emerged purely from a sense of  curiosity? This is important because you do not have the luxury of pursuing everything at the same time, your pursuits must be focused.
