RESPONSE TO JESUS

Matthew 14:31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Peter offered no response to Jesus’ question, however, in his defense, I dare to offer one:

Jesus: “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Response:
I doubt because I am human,
I doubt because I am afraid,
I doubt because what I sense, has greater weighting than what I cannot,
I doubt because I have no personal experience in my bank to draw on,
I doubt because I have not acquired the requisite knowledge to cause me to believe otherwise,

What then is my prayer?
That in my humanity, I will remember that I am a son,
That I will be courageous
That I will walk not by sight, but by faith,
That I will develop my journey with you, with personalized experiences to draw on,
That I will press for knowledge every step of the way to consolidate my belief in you

That is my prayer today and I pray you also make it your own.
