A THOUSAND CUBITS MORE

Reference: Ezekiel 47:1-12

The unit of measure described as “a thousand cubit” is more than just a unit of distance. It represents a body of knowledge, a duration of time and even an opportunity presented to gain mastery and grounding.

In ankle deep water, your focus is on your feet. You think about grounding, the feel of the water, sand or rocks under your feet and the techniques to move. At knee length, there is a combo of both foot and body. At waist-depth, a whole new array of techniques come into play including body positioning, effort and strength. At the point of becoming a river, you have to be able to swim across.

Beloved, there is a reason why process exists, and  rationales for the increasing difficulty of skills: amateur, beginner, intermediate, master. Without understanding the rudiments and requirements on the first 1000 cubits, it is risky to let you advance another 1000 cubits. Put it this way: If you have not mastered the art of threading shallow waters, you will drown when you encounter a river.

Don’t ignore the place of small incremental steps, they are fundamental in the gaining of mastery.
