THE LIFTING OF MEN

Many of us tend to associate with things or people only when they have reached the pinnacle of success. Hence, starting with, journeying along and remaining with others is often not part of our thinking. In many quarters, therefore, humble beginnings are not so much something that is.

John writes to the church today in these words “And now, little children, remain in Christ, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming (1 John 2:28). To remain is to stay with unwavering faith and trust, to stay holding on to the systems, dictates, promises, and  principles Christ has left behind. It is only after we have remained, that we can dare to be confident in his presence when He returns.

This same principle also applies with men because you cannot confidently celebrate at the table of majesty unless your input to the arrival of another at this table can be seen. So don’t hold your hand when you can be part of those God uses in the lifting of men.
