There are manuals that guide action: recipes books guide cooking, user guides offer instruction on how to use devices or gadgets. In the same vain, there are rules that govern communication. Today therefore, the scope falls on the what and how of speaking.

Many people have found themselves in tricky situations, not because they didn’t know what to say, but because they missed the timing on the how and the manner in which to say it. Others have got the execution right but have missed out entirely on the content of the message.

This is the two sides of the coin: what to say and how to say it. Both sides must be understood expressly because anyone who finds themselves deficient in any of these two dimensions will be operating without balance and so will be deficient to a large extent. So let us not just know what to say, let’s also strive to gain mastery on how to say it.
