Reference text: Matthew 25:1-13

1. You may inherit your father’s estate, but not the determination and grit that went into the building of those assets. There are some things in life such as hope, courage, discipline, determination etc that cannot be imparted or purchased off the shelf of a shop. These are personal commodities that have to be nurtured.

2. There are some things in life that cannot be put off until the last minute.

Many of the things we will have to do in life are time bound because we live ‘in time’ on earth. There is only a finite amount of that commodity available. Some things therefore,  cannot and should not not be left undone until the last minute. You might not the time necessary to execute them as they ought to.

3. You can easily miss the boat or run out of oil if you are not prepared and don’t pay attention.

Opportunities come the way of all in different forms, it takes discerning eyes to see them and the necessary ground work or preparation to receive opportunities. Without adequate preparation, many doors will appear closed because you won’t have the keys to open them.
