DAY 94

John 13:23-24 One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him. Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, “Ask him which one he means.”
Often when people outsource activities, it is either because they believe they do not have the requisite skill set to execute it themselves or they believe another is better placed to handle things. This is also seen sometimes when others ask for prayer. There is a definite and concrete prayer released in the corporate prayer of agreement.
Matthew 18:19 says “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. two of you shall agree on any”. There is a thus a tremendous power released through corporate prayer that can cause shifts on earth, and in the heaven.
Nonetheless, some people choose to outsource prayer solely on the assertion that “others have a closer bond with God, and so have better access to him than they do. Much like the image we see in the Gospel where Peter motions to John, who was lying on Jesus’ bossom, to ask Jesus to clarify the words he had spoken.
The message in today’s reflection is this: ‘We have equal access to God’. The quality of our engagement with Him is, therefore, a function of our understanding and maturity. Some may appear to get answers to prayers faster than others because they have mastered the art of prayer with the help of the Holy Spirit. They have journeyed with help, in the corridors of travail and so the fruits of that journey is what we see.
Beloved, the arms of God are open wide to the whole world, and anyone who dares to say Yes, is admitted into the His corridors for fellowship. But admission alone is not enough, because maturing is the end goal.
