DAY 59

Isaiah 55:10-11 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
The Power in the word of God is released on the basis of two qualities: the integrity of God and the abilities of God. In our text today, we are introduced to a facet in this equation entirely dependent on the Sovereignty of God. When God releases His healing grace, it can cause changes regardless of the posture of the recipient.
However, there is dimension of the word of God that is conditional and therefore requires a token of our participation. Without our involvement, the fulfilment of those will not manifest. Like the promise of a saviour remained suspended until Mary said ‘Be it done unto me according to your word’.
There is a place for the Sovereignty of God, that is non negotiable. However, there also sits a place for our participation in the fulfilment of prophecy and promises. A pair of scissors is still sharp even with one handle, yet its full efficiency becomes evident when both handles are present. “Nothing is impossible for God, but He needs your partnership to do some things.”
