DAY 56

We read another interesting encounter between Jesus and the Pharisees who expressed concerns that Jesus was mingling with the wrong kind of people, namely sinners and tax collectors. To this Jesus responded:
“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance”(Luke 5:31-32)
Does this therefore suggest that Jesus did not come for anyone who fell outside the scope of ‘the sick’? It is easy to infer such a conclusion but if the life of Jesus on earth revealed anything, it made us aware of the ease with which He connected with all men. Rich or poor, influencial or not, hungry or full.
The key is therefore not just about who Jesus is or who He can be, it is about knowing who we are and where we stand whenever we engage with Him. In effect, he was doctor only to the sick because to the hungry, he became provider, to the dead, he became life anew, to the lost, he became a way and to the learner, he became teacher.
Jesus has become all things to all men, thus whatever dimension in the revelation of Himself that you catch, can become the reality you live.
