ARE YOU IN THAT NUMBER?

DAY 26

Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

We read a very interesting piece of text today. If nothing, the title ‘Lord of the harvest’ should be indicative of one who knew about and was in charge of the harvest. I would even dare say that it is one who has authority to make decisions and perhaps, veto things when harvest is concerned.

It is therefore a bit strange, bordering on confusing that ‘earnest prayer was to be offered for the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into his harvest. It just didn’t seem right. Yet somehow, a message I was listening to moments before reading this text sprung up loudly “there are works of men that precede an act of God”.

The most high, in his might, power and sovereignty at sundry times demands the partnership of men to do what He desires to do. It’s because He is bound by His word as it is written “The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind”(Ps 115:16)

Thus, there exists an inseparable alliance between man and God to birth the purposes of God in earth. That is why God continues to seek for men, who are truly available to become his partners on their walk. Will you be counted in that number?
