MERCY SAID NO!

DAY 20

Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

God’s dealings with man is built on his knowledge of us and of himself. The Psalmist says in Psalm 103:14  “he knows our frame, he knows that we’re dust’. You have no idea how much insight God has into the potential and propensity of humanbeings to rebel. He knows He himself is bound by the demarcations of his Word hence the situation where his covering lifted when the covenant was not followed.

God, therefore, had to rewrite this covenant so that his mercy would take centre stage. The reality is God has always known us: before we were born, and while we live. At every turn of tide, or in every season in time, He is in the known about our dealings with Him. He therefore puts things in place to give us advantages. Advantages to receive the very best of what He has for us.

There are things we rightly deserve to happen to us [things that won’t always be exciting] because of the choices we make, whether or not we are conscious of the consequences that follow them. Yet, the Mercy of God, which takes the stage today, becomes that system of advantage which exempts us from those things that we actually do deserve

Beloved, God always wants the best for us and He always goes all out to put His best within our reach.
