Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us].
Whenever trouble beckons, the first thing we do is to look around to ascertain who is in our corner. Whose help can I solicit or who has the resources that I need?
Today, we read the Prophet Isaiah declaring Immanuel, God with us. Not only is God with us, but God is also for us. He isn’t some passive bystander oblivious and ignorant of what we are going through. If anything, He is right there with us, for us.
Yet, we will be rather ignorant to think that because God is with and for us, the guarantee is that the journey will be easy. The only guarantee we have because of His presence is not ease, but the assurance of safe arrival. That we and all that concerns us all make it to the end of the journey when we walk with the Lord.
The assignment of faith, with a secured assurance of God’s presence, is not to make things easy, it is to make them possible. Because with God, All things are possible.
