Today is Gaudete – rejoicing Sunday when translated. One of the hardest things however to do is remaining joyful. There appears to be too many things not going right in and with our lives to warrant any celebration. Yet, we are to be joyful, not happy. For while happiness is always situation dependent, joy is situation independent.
One must therefore make a conscious decision to be consistently joyful. There is a powerful revelation where JOY is revealed as a source of immense strength. Yes, the joy of the Lord is our strength!
Beloved, it takes great consistency to choose to be Joyful. In effect, you cannot be joyful by accident – it takes a willingness and a desire to be joyful, as well as an enablement that comes from the Holy Spirit.
