TRANSITIONING

330/365

Isaiah 2:4 He shall judge between the nations, And rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore.

Can you understand or appreciate what it takes to transition completely? Not like moving from playing football to becoming a football coach, but the kind that will require a complete transformation and adaptation of your skills and the tools you have at your disposal.

Think of the requirements in today’s text: swords were beaten in plows and spears changed to pruning Hooks. The initial and known functionalities of those tools were being discarded completely.

Can you truly perceive what it means to transit into an entirely new field of endeavour, even if it is born out of explicit instruction? Well, if nothing, you can be certain that it is a massive risk. Oh yes, there is no reason to sell it any less – it is a massive risk to modify your tools. What if you need them for your old job in case things don’t work out after transitioning?

It takes a certain commitment and conviction to transit, especially when you acknowledge the risk and uncertainties involved. However, you can also walk in the assurance that God invests the integrity of His name  on those transitions He sanctions. Therefore, a glorious end is guaranteed.
