Luke 18:2 He said, In a certain city there was a judge who neither reverenced and feared God nor respected or considered man.
For everyone in their right mind, you will want to be on the good side of the law because the judiciary, when operating uninitiated and unbiased, is a fearful system. When a judge gives a ruling or a verdict, it is absolute. It takes the power of Judges of higher authority or a system of pardon accorded to the executive arm of government to overturn their verdict.
Thus, judges are people of great influence and power. Their words and actions wield capacity to literally change lives- for the good or the bad. When power of such magnitude is however er wielded in the hands of men, unless the man’s heart has been tempered by God, they can easily be puffed up and become gods unto themselves.
That was the judge we encounter today: ‘a man who had no reverence for God nor regard for men’. That is a dangerous state of being where you submit to no one. And mind you, men of such repute are not ignorant: they know they wield power and know how to use power. The judge himself said ‘I will give her justice’, meaning it was in his capacity to.
Men and women like the judge, about whom we read, are so influential to every destiny that you simply cannot pray them away. Their influence requires that they have to hold your hand to usher you through certain doors. Thus, while they may neither respect God nor have regard for men, God will cause them to be at peace with you so they will aid your course through destiny. That should be the prayer you pray.
