Psalms 146:3 Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.

In times of expansion, need or challenge, one requires help to breakthrough and press forward. Seeing as we live in a world surrounded by billions of other humanbeings, common sense will dictate then that we turn to other men when we need help. That is a good thing to do.

However, a move like that is deemed by the word of God as the wrong one. In fact, it appears there is a great rebuke for seeking help from men. In addition to the Psalm we read, the Prophet Jeremiah said thus ‘ Thus says the LORD, “Cursed is the man who trusts in and relies on mankind, Making [weak, faulty human] flesh his strength, And whose mind and heart turn away from the LORD(Jer 17:5).

The Psalmist tells us in Psalms 121:2
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”

So whenever we seek to access help, we bear in mind that ‘our help is not from men, but from the Lord. That our help does not come from men, but from God who sends his help through men. It is very easy to fix our gaze on men, who are the third party, and forget about the God at work.

We really are in trouble if our help comes from men because men are finite in ability and capacity, God is not.
