UNDERSTAND PATTERNS

309/365

We read a very strange text today, but it is one that calls us to action. It is the unusual story of seven brothers which is summarised as follows:

Now there were seven brothers. The first one married a woman and died childless. The second and then the third married her, and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children (Luke 20:29-31)

The very fact that the issue persisted across the life times of all seven men is course of genuine concern. Patterns describe a sequence of events that mimic an occurrence that has already been seen. As glaring as some might be, it is crucial to be discerning in identifying patterns that happen around us.

To be successful in replicating positive results, positive patterns ought to be identified and adopted. Likewise, if negative patterns are unidentified or left unaddressed, they will eat up and destroy every single thing in their path.

Mind you, patterns can be trans- generational, causing a bad situation to plague many. These can’t just be wished away, it takes warfare to crush the pillars and altars that sustain patterns. Whether it is a stronghold in mind or an altar supported by wickedness, it is important to be discern and get to work on your knees.

Let us not take recurring themes and patterns for granted, particularly where they can impact any dimension of our living.
