Luke 16:10 The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.
“A relationship is any advantageous connection, with God or with men“
Because seasons change, and there comes moments time when a man might be lifted and promoted into places of influence, what one ought to do from those seats of influence is to build relationships.
In the realm of man, ‘relationships ‘ are a currency that can be used to make purchases. The conclusion of today’s parable reads ‘The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness’ (Luke 16:10). Why? Because before he was kicked out of office, he made efforts to build strategic relationships that were intended to cater for him after he transitioned.
With men, there are bridges you have to keep and others you have to build to reach people even though you may not necessarily like them or they may not sit within the same belief system as you. At certain places of influence, some relationships will come and need to be maintained by some means.
Note: the master does not ignore nor does he praise the dishonesty of the said manager. What he commends was his astuteness and relationship building abilities. Thus, two lessons to remember: use your lifting to build relationships, and even in the life of any person, find the good traits you can learn.
