SAY YES

I created a bit of a to do list today because I had quite a bit to accomplish in the day. While I was in the process of completing specific tasks, I would recall ‘that other thing also needs completion.’

Such reminders are what we use in our day to day life to set our priorities. The things that require our most urgent attention sit atop our lists. We read today that two individuals were called by Jesus to follow, but other things were deemed more important to them at the time of this call. For the first , the burial of his father and to another, the farewell to those he would he leaving at behind.

The truth is very few people are fully idling when such requests come: follow me’. It therefore takes a little more than a moment to say Yes or  to conclude, ‘not yet, just another thing and I will be with you’. The word that came to mind as I thought about this text was ‘oh that today you will listen to his voice, harden not your heart’

No matter what you have to do, don’t put off your opportunity to say Yes to the Lord while you go to do it. At every moment in time when His invitation arrives at the doors of your heart, whether the request is for your response or commitment, say Yes.
That yes to Him, will be the best Yes  you say.
