ENGAGE WITH YOUR MIND

249/365

Matthew 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

God is the great architect who has a reason and purpose for anything before He makes them. With purpose and intent therefore, He made man with a three fold consideration: as a spirit, housed in a body with a soul.

As much then as we often dwell on,  not everything is just ‘spiritual’. There are exceptions, but what we eat or wear on a daily basis does not come by revelation or divine instruction. We engage our minds to achieve them.
What the soul dimension: our mind, intellect and emotion, does is to grant us the capacity to make choices.

We read today that Joseph was considering what to do with Mary when the Angel appeared to him with information. He had engaged his mind to find a solution, and it was during the process that help and clarity arrived. Many Christians have become abusers of ‘spiritual things’ that they seem to forget that man has a soul.

The Spirit of God in us is the prompt that drives our mind to action, so God  trusts us to engage it. Is there a problem? Ponder on it… Think about it.. Engage your mind towards solution finding. While you are involved in that process, God moves and answers come – through the mind or the spirit; so engage with your mind.
