Micah 2:1 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

When the purpose of ‘a thing’ is not known, abuse is inevitable. Those words in the writing of Dr Myles Monroe come to mind and it sheds some light on the text today. While ‘the thing’ could refer to relationships, opportunities, or talents, in the context of today’s text, ‘the thing’ in makes reference to the ‘power of thinking’

The mind, the seat where great things are intended to be forged, and plans for kingdom advance relayed to man, were being employed to devise evil and to scheme wickedness; a real misuse in the case

Therefore, the relationship between product and purpose becomes a point of interest because where purpose is not known, abuse is indeed inevitable.
