YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Acts 18:9-10 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”

As much as there is a joy that comes with being the pioneer of an idea or agenda, there comes a time when one begins to worry if they are the only one involved in that specific task. That can be overwhelming and feel like a very lonely place.

It is for this reason that God reassures Paul that ‘he was not alone and that He, the Lord, had many in the city who were His people’. In other words, this was an encouragement to Paul that others were running the same race as he. Perhaps not on the same track, but a parallel one headed to the same destination. But in the moments when paths were meant to cross, he would encounter others on the same journey.

That is also our encouragement while we tread along those lonely paths carrying visions, dreams, and ways of living that seem to be borne only by us. Be assured that you are not on the journey all by yourself. So don’t stop moving.
