THE COST OF YOUR RISING
Exodus 32:10 Now leave me alone so my fierce anger can blaze against them, and I will destroy them. Then I will make you, Moses, into a great nation.ā
At what price does your rising come? This question popped up in mind because of the unique situation Moses was presented with. God offered to consume the entire nation and make a brand new one out of Moses. By our knowledge of God, we very well know He is able to do just that.
Many of the people who have seen farthest, have stood on the shoulders of others for support- not trampled them under feet. Therefore, the promise of an entire nation was not enough for Moses to be convinced as the whole of Israel would have to perish.
For all intents and purposes, he saw it as a test of his credentials as an intercessor and a reminder to God that during their first encounter, He, the I AM THAT I AM; claimed the people of Israel as His own.
They were therefore too precious to be sacrificed on the altar of one man’s rising. Let’s not be convinced into thinking that by facilitating the fall of others, our rise will be guaranteed. You will realise along the way that it is a price a bit too steep to pay for your rising if you understand the heart of the chief shepherd.
