THE WAY TO GO

DAY 344 OF 365 IN 2021

Isaiah 48:17 This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go

Today’s message is one that sends a rather straight message to us. It does  sound like a play on words but it could not be even more profound. The one word that draws our attention to word play is ‘should’, a word indicative of obligation and necessity with which to perform an action.

Thus we are alerted to the real prospect of going the wrong way, the possibility that in spite of the existence of a way we can go and want to go, there is a way we ‘should go’, and God leads us along that way. It might sound that in such a situation, we are rid of choice and have only a single choice, to make.

Yet, we would realise that when one is on a course they should be on, the journey does appear smoother. Not that you will not encounter any hurdles or obstacles, but one will realise that on the path you should go, those hurdles become stories and lessons. They all contribute to making the journey worthwhile.

Therefore, let us strive to follow the the way we should go and not just set off on a pursuit of where we can go.
