DAY 338 OF 365 IN 2021

YOU NEED A SHEPHERD
Matthew 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them. They were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
A shepherd is one who has oversight over a flock. He tends to their nourishment, protection, comfort, and cleanliness. A good shepherd, as Jesus described is one who even lays down his life for his sheep, one who will not flee leaving the flock behind at the sight of a predator. Thus, today’s message is a resounding campaign for ‘you need a shepherd’.
Jesus uses the words dispirited, distressed and helpless to describe sheep without shepherds, a situation that poses significant dangers to those flock. Therefore, not just in a spiritual sense, but also in other matters of life, we need shepherds. Someone who will stand with and for you. Someone not afraid to tell you when things are not going right, someone who will lead you along a path worth following. We all need shepherds who will vouch for us and are willing to stand up for us.
Beloved, regardless of our status in life, whether risen or rising, we all need shepherds!
