DAY 331 OF 365 IN 2021.

Luke 21:34 But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap.

The average person already has their thoughts occupied such that there is no room for many new matters. How to make it through the day, how to find new opportunities, or even how to survive the harsh realities of each day. Our thoughts are already set in order of priorities hence rarely is there a conscious effort to pause for a minute to think about ‘the end of time’.

Jesus in speaking to his disciples today, highlights the real concern with such pattern of thoughts, emphasising the ease of losing track of everything else while we are locked on to the cares and worries of life.

There are scientific theories suggesting that the association between feeling sleepy after a heavy meal is due to the fractional reduction in blood flow to the brain due to increased flow to the intestine to facilitate digestion. Thus, the reasoning behind Jesus’ words becomes clearer: ‘whenever we begin to focus our efforts on specific areas, other areas that depend on a similar energy source suffer.’

Watch then where and ‘on what’ you focus, so that nothing is left unattended.
