DAY 303 OF 365 IN 2021

Luke 14:8 When you are invited by anyone to a marriage feast, do not recline on the chief seat [in the place of honor], lest a more distinguished person than you has been invited by him,

In any location, there may be others more distinguished than you. That is often a no brainer because you are unlikely to be the most important person at every time. You will run into a superior, a mentor, or a tutor etc. You will run into people who are in a literal sense, above you the ladder of hierarchy.

However, the key is not to become overly concerned about your position on a scale of importance, it is to establish what value you bring to the current pedestal on which you stand. Some people are too concerned with status and importance as perceived in the eyes of others that they become oblivious to what else matters.

Today’s message is thus just a gentle reminder, don’t focus so much on the importance accorded you by others, that you forget the value you bring yourself.
