USING YOUR INFLUENCE

DAY 160 OF 365 IN 2021

USING YOUR INFLUENCE

Matthew 5:19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

In statistics, trends give an idea of the direction or general leaning of a set of data. However, in modern terms, trends lean towards the things majority of people are talking about, reading or doing. It could be challenges, singing, games, fashion and so forth. These trends change nearly on a daily basis.

To be a good trendsetter, one must be a fairly descent teacher: one who gains understanding of a matter through personal application, and has the capacity to transmit this knowledge to others in a way that makes it practical and applicable in their very own situation.

If Jesus was very hard on any group of persons, it was people who acted as models to lead others into sin. Elsewhere, he said that “It is inevitable that temptations or stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come! It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble”(Luke 17:1-2)

That is the main pointer, that regardless of the extent of our reach, our influence does not draw people away from the standards set out by God.
