DAY 142 OF 365 IN 2021

John 21:22 Jesus replied, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? As for you, follow me.”
The disciples today were overly interested in the words of Jesus, to an extent that they had to be told off for sticking their heads too far forward into another person’s business. Their actions fitted the description of Paul in 1 Thessalonians 3:11 ‘We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies’.
Jesus’ words to them was to serve as a reminder: it really does not matter what I want to do with another. ‘In fact, that must not impact what I have, and want to do with you, so stay in line.’ As much as some of the events occuring in the lives of others concern us, we ought not allow ourselves to become completely distracted by them. Of course they will garner our attention because they matter, but they should not turn us into busybodies.
Our paths will cross with others as we journey forward, but let’s not forget that we each have our walk. Don’t let those of others steer you off your path.
