RESISTANCE FOR A REASON

Acts 16:6,7 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,  After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

Whenever we face resistance in life or whenever we hit an obstacle in our forward advance, we immediately turn our minds to view these obstacles as hindrances; an impediment to our progress.

However, the story is very different today. The blockade faced by the disciples was a direct instruction – this territory is not for entry just yet. There was no reason to fight this because the giver of the message had access to the whole picture, information the disciples were yet to receive.

So when we encounter a barrier, a reason why something is not allowing for a forward motion, discern the intent behind. It may not be an obstacle, but a warning. Beloved, don’t wade into waters that have the capacity to overwhelm you because the reason you may have a barrier is because you are not permitted or ready to enter a territory.
