MORE THAN LOCAL CHAMPIONS

DAY 89 OF 365 IN 2021

Isaiah 49:6 He says," It is not enough for you to be My Servant raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations, to be My salvation to the ends of the earth."

Before becoming world champions, athletes normally go through multiple stages: local school championships, intercollegiate championships, regional and national competitions before gaining an audience on the global or international stage. At each of these stages however, one must prove themselves capable of beating whichever opposition they face.

This is crucial because unless exposed to athletes, champions and challenges from other regions, one might think themselves the very best even though they may only be ‘local champions’.

As I read today’s text from Isaiah, the analogy above came to mind. And it seems God also pictured the same thing when he said ‘it is not enough to be a local champion with Israel, I intend to launch you out as a light to the Nations, so my salvation reaches the ends of the earth’. The intention was for global representation and not a localised impact.

Beloved, you may start small in whatever venture, but God does not want you to stay so. He looks forward to a period of expansion and growth that puts you on the global map. He is interested in your journey which starts locally, but is intended to have extensive reach and influence. God really has big things planned!

He wants to make us a people with trans-generational influence and voices that have universal reach, not just ‘local champions’.

So get ready.
