DAY 28 OF 365 IN 2021

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
If there is something the book of Hebrew does rather well, it is its ability to highlight and emphasise the excellency of Jesus, our high priest: the quality of his single offering on the cross in comparison to the many that were required by the hands of every other high priest.
However, such emphasis does not overshadow the very reason for the cross because that is presented in harmony with the perfect sacrifice of Jesus. Beloved, if the sacrifice of the cross does not bring us into proximity with God, then the cross has not served its purpose. For we, who were strangers to God and in darkness, have been brought into a friendship and alliance with Him; by the blood of Jesus.
Sweetheart, the intention of the cross
is to bridge the gap which existed between us and God. The cross is meant to be the magnet that pulls us towards the throne of grace. So therefore, we are reminded today, that our perfect high priest has laid down the path to the throne. Our part is to draw near.
