YOU CAN HANG ON TO HIS WORD

Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

There is an online strategy game called “Diplomacy”: it involves strategically placing one’s fleets and armies in such a manner that one takes over key intercontinental supply centres. In the two modes of play, one allows for communication between players while the other does not. I prefer the latter because the former brings to bear the reason why this game is known by another name “backstabbr”.

Players therefore do not mind telling you one thing and doing another as long as they gain an advantage. Simply, it is difficult to trust any person to honour a non-aggression pact. It is interesting to picture Jesus involved in such a game because He would literally provide surety with every play. His word will be his guarantee and one can be sure He will keep to it.

Even in the days of the prophet Samuel, scripture records that no word of His fell to the ground; God honoured every single thing He spoke. Imagine then if God spoke himself? He who is not a man and cannot lie, He who is Yes and Amen; what if He spoke?

Beloved, there is a certainty and a peace when we actually hold on to every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. His word is worth its weight in gold and each comes with a guarantee. Why? Because it is His honour.
