Reference: Matthew 8:23-27
In my current book I am reading, I came across these words “the eyes produce the raw materials for our imagination. Combined with the input from other senses such as sound and smell, we are presented with a resultant brew or cocktail that shapes our imagination to a very significant extent. We combine all the input from our senses to form a particular picture and depending on that input, we respond.
The disciples of Jesus were frantic and their imaginations spiralled out of control. With the rising waves, roaring storms and drenching of clothes, disaster looked like the obvious outcome. Like these disciples, we also fix our gaze religiously on the storms we encounter’. We forget the Lord who is in the boat with us, at whose word all storms subside.
If we have indeed forgotten, now is the moment to remember.
