DO YOU HAVE SPIRITUAL RESERVES?

Reference: Mark 5:21-43

Mark 5:26 She had gone to many doctors, and they had not done anything except cause her a lot of pain. She had paid them all the money she had. But instead of getting better, she only got worse.

Physical reserves as the name suggests, are from a physical source hence by all means, are finite. Therefore, they run out. As the story of the woman with a bleeding issue suggested, she run out of material resources after spending all her earnings trying to get better.

This also meant everything else had to come to an end, including her desire to get better because without the right resources, no project can be continued.
However, even though she had no material resources to utilise this time, when she heard about Jesus, she made a move. So we might wonder, what could have been the driving factor for her action? The answer: her spiritual reserve.

The active pursuit of healing as one who knew that it was the desire of God to restore her,

The faith to push through the crowd believing that touching Jesus would restore her healing,

The trust and tunnelled vision to keep her eyes looking unto Jesus as one who would not cause pain, but heal her without demanding payment.

Those my dear, had nothing to do with her lack of physical resources, but her ability to tap into what reserves she had on the inside – her spiritual reserves. So it leaves us to also ponder, when we have no material resources, would there be a spiritual pool from which we can draw?
