2 Samuel 7:25 And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
When one does not know the intention behind a proposed action, one of the most dangerous statements they can say to another is ‘do what you said you would’. David makes this even more of a big deal with his introduction of the word ‘forever’ in his statement granting God room to operate. But he was not just throwing those words out there, he was taking God at his word and petitioning that whatever He had spoken, he would fulfil.
The reason King David was so confident with this prayer and with giving God full permission to fulfil His promises was because he was aware of what those promises were and the intention of the giver of them. He had an item by item list of the contents of God’s promises concerning his life and since he had no concerns with the items listed, he prayed for their fulfilment.
Sweetheart, there is a certain confidence that comes with knowing exactly what God has said concerning your life because it grants you the courage to demand them from him. When you know the heart of God towards you, you can stand back and allow him to fulfil the promises he has made to you because you know they will be in your favour.
So begin to obtain an item by item list of His promises, and place demands for them on the corridors of Elohim. It will be His delight to grant them.
