Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Today’s text is one of those that after reading, you just stop to question it’s veracity. You begin to look around, to critically analyse your life to check if you should agree or disagree with such a bold claim. Yet, if done without bias, one will ultimately come to the realisation that it is an undeniable truth.
It seems bold ‘All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose’. There isn’t provision for mishaps, accidents or bad outcomes for according this word, every outcome in line with the plan of God will be good. To anyone whom this is applicable therefore, it seems to say ‘your foot is never in the wrong place’.
Nonetheless, all this hinges on some conditions ‘love for God and a call according to his purpose’. Beloved, God has one ultimate desire for us ‘That all may know him’ because when that condition is fulfilled, his call and purpose will become clear and our love for Him, flourish.
Those who love God are unafraid to walk with him because they trust unconditionally. They are not worried about letting go, stepping forward or holding on firmly when asked to. That intimate alliance and unwavering trust is the reason one can have a guarantee of perfect outcomes in ALL things.
You may see a haphazard process or an uneven path leading nowhere, but just so you also know: God sees the end, and it is a GOOD ONE.
