John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Every big money signing to a football team arrives amidst a lot of hype and with that comes a lot of pressure. These players arrive with with much to prove to their new team mates, the club and its fans It is therefore very easy for all involved to become disappointed when they do not live up to these expectations.
It isn’t only on these fronts, but in many spheres of life also, we all constantly strive to prove good people right for believing we are able and to prove those who thought we couldn’t make it wrong. That’s a human thing. But today, with the spotlight focused on God, we are reminded that He has nothing to prove to us and He doesn’t need to flex His muscles for us to know that He is able.
Beloved, no one chooses to live their entire lives expecting troubles to come their way, but when one lives in a war zone, attacks can be expected at anytime. That is the believer’s reality. The size of our agenda and the missions we carry make it impossible for the enemy to allow us march on unopposed. We have grande destinies hence, the unrelenting opposition.
Nonetheless, the champion on our team, the God who has nothing to prove, charges us to stay courageous and to walk on because he has already overcome. He has done all that needs to be done, all that remains is for us to live it out.
