Reference text: John 10:31-42
John 10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
If there are attributes that were characteristic of Jesus, fundamental to them was the boldness and authority with which He made his utterances. He spoke as one who had a clear conviction of all He spoke about. Hence, as we hear today, he is confident even to say to the Jews that all He had done so far, had only been good.
Many of us cower in fear because we seem to only have a partial conviction in what we believe, in what we have and what we are able to do. As a result of the absence of a firm planting of our feet on the solid foundations of truth, we operate with a somewhat distorted picture, unable to exude the level of confidence a single minded believer ought to radiate.
Beloved, in what lies our confidence?
This question is relevant because the believer’s confidence does not proceed from their own strength, but from the knowing about and living out that which the father has promised. It’s time for you to hold on to the word of truth, believe God for who He is, for who He has made you and for what He has given you. That will mark the start of an upward climb in your confidence.
Remember # When your conviction becomes resolute, confidence is the eventual outcome, not pride.
