Luke 10:1 After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
Whenever a company seeks to expand into a new market, they do feasibility studies and market research to establish a clear motivation for their choice, particularly to ascertain if the current business climate is suitable. It is only after a significant chance of succeeding has been concluded, do they proceed to laying any actual foundations.
Today as we read in the Gospel of Luke, Jesus sent multiple pairs of disciples ahead of him to lay the ground works before he arrived himself. Even though we see a significant degree of anticipation and future planning, what actually stands out are the places to which these disciples were sent: ‘those places He himself was to go’.
That fact is very relevant to future events as it is important to know where a foundation needs to be laid. It will indeed be a great loss for a significant amount of resources to be used in establishing solid foundations at a location one has no intentions of developing further. Beloved, you can make plans ahead of time but are they being executed in those places they really need to be?
