YOU NEED INFORMATION

Reference text: Matthew 1:18-25

Matthew 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

All traders, regardless of what they buy and sell, make hundreds of decisions every day. Those decisions however safe or risky they appear to be, are based on one key feature: the amount of information available to them. Therefore, leaving out a single piece of detail thinking it was irrelevant could immensely affect a decision made.

Considering the amount of information Joseph had: ‘Mary is pregnant and she hasn’t lived with me – the obvious conclusion was she had had relations with another man. Thus, based on that, just let her go without making it a big issue’. Joseph would have been clearly justified to do this with the information available to him. In fact, He even went further by opting to do this in secret because he was not obliged to.

What altered his course of action was that filler information the Angel provided ‘She has conceived by the Holy Spirit’. That was a deal changer. We have also come to such moments in our lives where we didn’t need money or a chunk of resources but just information. God knows how crucial this is so He places people along our path to offer us all the snippets of information we need on our journey and when need be, He steps in with some more himself.

My dear, God has access to all those critical pieces of information you need. So I ask: before making that business investment, asking that person out, choosing to accept your place on that course or even a embarking on that journey- actually, before doing anything, have you requested for all the information you need from Him? If you haven’t, you should, because that extra detail can alter your whole course of action.

Remember # what you need to make your decision is information which God has.
