Mark 7:24 And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
Most people go into hiding only when they have done something wrong and are being pursued to render accounts. Other than that, many will prefer to be in the limelight at every given opportunity. Jesus may have wanted some time alone to himself but tried as he did, he was located by diligent seekers.
The book of proverbs in 18:16 makes a very good statement in this regard: ‘ the gifts of a man makes a way for him and will bring him before the great’. In other words, with the gifts you possess, you cannot go unnoticed. This syrophenician woman may not exactly fit the description of great but one thing we see is that she was able to locate Jesus.
My dear, there is something about the gifts God has given to us which makes it nearly impossible for them to be hidden. We can try for a while to push them to the side or neglect them- but there usually comes that moment when whether consciously or unconsciously, we find ourselves putting those gifts at the service of others.
Sweetheart, what you have been given is not yours to keep, they are to be offered to all. However hard you try to bury them, its aroma will draw people in. So instead of finding ways to hide, why not seek out opportunities to utilise your gifts and contribute to making a difference in the lives of others.
Remember # every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord- as long as what you have can make a positive difference, don’t be afraid to use it.
