IT’S TIME FOR NEW SONGS

Psalms 40:3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

At an Early age, children are taught words using a lot of songs and rhymes. This is because the mind seems to have a funny way of remembering songs that we hear repetitively whether consciously or unconsciously hence at some point in time, we are likely to sing them out loud.

The Psalmist speaks about a new song placed in his mouth: this song was a song of praise to God and just as many people seem to have a genre of music they enjoy, the same applies to the songs that ultimately proceed from their lips because out of the abundance of one’s heart, the mouth speaks.

For some, over the course of many years, the only songs they have mastered are songs of disappointments, defeat, faithlessness, fear and failure. But today, the Lord wants to offer an exchange: fear for courage, disappointment for hope and failure for victory. He wants you singing a whole new genre of songs.

My dear, there is also a responsibility on your shoulders to limit your exposure to those songs that pin you down and have the capacity to steal your joy because whether done willingly or not, you can pick up songs which you should not. Just allow yourself to sing those songs the Lord puts in your mouth.

Remember # you have the power to select your own playlist of songs to listen to.
