A GREAT DIVIDE

Luke 16:26 And besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that even those who wish cannot cross from here to you, nor can anyone cross from there to us.’

In the context of Mark 11:24, “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”, there is a 100% fool proof strategy to get whatever one desires and dares to make requests for.

However, we quickly come to the realization that this does not automatically mean a blank check or answers to all our prayer. The rich man in question today, although in Hades, made a request. The granting of his request faced a limitation ‘there was a great divide which made it impossible to honour the request.

Such can be the hindrances to the prayers of the Saints such that even with great desire, some answers may still not reach you because there is a great divide – a contrast between the version of you desiring, and the version that has the stature to receive and maintain the response being sought.

There is a great divide between the readily saved you and the matured you, between the ignorant you and the transformed you, between the weak you and the empowered you. Bridging this divide is what guarantees the desires you have and request in prayer, albeit according to to the will of God.
