WHAT ARE YOU ASKING FOR?

Matthew 20:22 NIV “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?” “We can,” they answered.

Have you ever looked back at your life and taught “I am happy God did not answer that prayer”. Because if He honoured all your words, would you even still be alive? As much as God has honored his word above himself, with us His children, His love moderates his responses to us.

He does not have to simply respond to all our whims, and neither is He obligated to give in to our every demand, and so He can say NO to us. If only you could see what your unanswered prayers have achieved, you wouldn’t be so angry with God for saying No or not yet!

Whenever prayers are not answered, rarely do we ever ask why? Often we do nothing and only in future do we stumble into the answer when we look back. Left to our own devices, we will pray anyhow and anyway, not even know what we are asking, and that is why the Holy spirit helps us in our prayer enterprise.

You cannot journey far in prayer without help.
